Come and join us and let’s make a positive difference in communities and people’s lives.
I started Creating Communities (originally called Eric’s Substack) to capture and share my learning from delivering large-scale programs of infrastructure, urban and rural development internationally. I was partly concerned that if I didn’t write things down, I would forget them. I partly wanted to create a community and continue to learn. I mainly wanted to join with others to have a positive impact.
It struck me that what I was really addressing was Creating Communities. That program management concepts like benefits realization and social value are really about trying to make people’s lives better, mainly in the places they call home.
I write about the big things and the small things we can do to improve people’s lives and life chances. I analyze issues in the articles, and support change makers in project and program management, urban and rural development, and increasingly all who want to improve the fabric and sense of connection in their communities.
