One City's Story
I think it must have been 1983 when I first visited Belfast. 1984, possibly.
I was a ship’s navigator on the MV Wheelsman, run out of London by Rowbotham Tankships. I’d been released at the end of my officer cadetship by P&O. I think we all were. They were challenging times economically and jobs were scarce.
